This page honors Showco alumni who have passed on—those now “In Heavenly Concert,” a phrase from my father’s headstone. If you know of an alum to add or have updates, please let me know so we can keep their memory alive.

"I played in the band Sweet Virginia when Delton honed his skills as a lighting designer while working on his theatre degree under Jerry Davis at Oklahoma State University. I also traveled on the road as a technical staff member of Showco (at the time the largest rock n' roll production company in the world) on crew with Delton. An amazing talent and friend of all of us from Sweet Virginia.
"And then came the days at the Jail Saloon when the lights went on literally with the addition of the master skills of Delton Bass who would later prove his metal as one of the greatest R&R lighting designers on the worldwide stage. Delton Bass became the lighting designer for Wishbone Ash, Bad Company, the Bee Gees´ World Tour, the Michael Jackson Victory tour and for "The Last Waltz" documentary for the farewell show at San Francisco´s Winterland Ballroom filmed by Martin Scorsese (check the end credits), starting, of course, with lighting designer for the Stillwater, Oklahoma band - Sweet Virginia."
The small amount of obituary information about Delton doesn't at all represent his talent and who he really was. He was an incredible artist.
Delton - you are deeply missed."

"Today we lost a member of our Point Blank family, Leland Fields…one of our front of house sound men, friend, bus driver, and a damn fine Rock n Roll warrior… There’s no doubt he was greeted by our Point Blank brothers wearing his shirt that says ”I’VE SCREWED UP BIGGER SHOWS THAN YOURS!!” Rest easy Leland, there’s no feedback i

"Such a great man. He taught me so much about the art of "mixing" live festival sound. I will always be proud of my friendship with B.J."
Thanks for the memories.............
